A Welcome from your Chairman

Chairman Michael Maher

Welcome to Thurles Sarsfields!

As Chairman of Thurles Sarsfields club I would like to welcome you to our website. This website is the brainchild of Thomas Callanan, Enda Ryan and Jamie Barrett and I would like to pay tribute to the work they have done in setting up this excellent site.

The aim of this site is to provide a medium of communication with all our supporters, particularly those living in far off places. It will give regular updates on all our fixtures and results involving the numerous teams that represent the club, including the newly formed Ladies Football Section of our club. It will tell of the clubs current and future plans including our ambitious plans to develop new training facilities in Thurles. Off the field it will provide updates on future events being run by the Dublin/Kildare Association and the progress of our historic Thurles Sarsfields Supporters Club.

The back to back successes of both minor hurling and football and ladies football has seen a new generation of players and members involved within our club structure . A new vigour and enthusiasm is running through the club. New ideas are coming forward and new people are getting involved. We are a player-oriented success driven club, whose objectives are the continued development of our players and teams. We aim to compliment the work of Dúrlas Óg and build on their successes.

To achieve our objectives we need the support of all connected with Thurles Sarsfields. Your help is vital for the future success and development of this famous club. I hope you enjoy your visit to our website. Please continue to support this great club – it is your club, your parish.

Michael Maher
Chairman.
